Calling all aquaculture extension, outreach, and communications professionals! Minnesota Sea Grant, University of Wisconsin Sea Grant/Water Resources Institutes, and the UW-Stevens Point: Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility UW-Stevens Point invite you to save the dates for the 2027 National Aquaculture Extension Workshop (NAEW).

Since 1992, this workshop has provided opportunities to build skills, exchange ideas, network, and help strengthen sustainable aquaculture across the nation.

Join our team! The University of Wisconsin–Madison Aquatic Sciences Center, which administers both Wisconsin Sea Grant and the Water Resources Institute, is hiring an Associate Director for Outreach and Engagement.

We're looking for an experienced leader to provide strategic direction and oversight for our outreach and engagement programs with an eye toward building partnerships and engaging communities.

This role will also supervise a team of outreach professionals with expertise in coastal engineering, contaminants, aquatic invasive species, fisheries and aquaculture, coastal tourism, nutrient management, social sciences, and environmental education.

Sam, a fashion student at Mount Mary University, created this beautiful, goldfish-inspired dress out of silk. The silk, which is more expensive than plastic-based fabrics like polyester, was provided as part of our efforts to educate the next generation of fashion on sustainability and plastic reduction. Celebrate one of the world's greatest freshwater resources with us next Friday, August 14 on Lake Michigan Day!

Hosted by the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, this event brings together conservation leaders, researchers, educators, students, and community members to share ideas, build partnerships, and find solutions for a healthier Lake Michigan.
..and very own Titus Seilheimer will also be receiving a Lake Michigan Champions of Conservation award!

Every August, conservation professionals, researchers, community leaders, educators, students, and passionate residents come together to celebrate and protect one of the world's greatest freshwater resources at Lake Michigan Day in Wisconsin.

How can we reduce the amount of plastic produced by the fashion industry, and in turn, keep ourselves and our waters healthier? By working with up-and-coming young fashion designers. Wisconsin Sea Grant and Milwaukee Riverkeeper have been working with Mount Mary University’s lauded fashion program to teach students (and professors!) about marine debris, the Great Lakes, and sustainability.
