With summer recess just around the corner, things are shifting gears, though we will be returning later this summer for upcoming legislative work. Looking back on this session, I am constantly reminded of what a true privilege this job is; I get to learn so much every day, down to every single person who crosses my path, and I am always happy to share a well-earned compliment with the incredible people I meet. Please consider this your friendly reminder that we are here to serve you all. If there is an issue you want researched or looked at, never hesitate to reach out, as you might just be the catalyst for a brand-new bill or the answer to someone else’s question. On that note, as flood damage remains an ongoing issue for our community, we have a new resource available: please utilize the Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 844-965-1383 if you need assistance. Finally, on a brighter note, it is officially Dairy Month, so be sure to tune into the video for some great ways to celebrate and support our local dairy farmers!

Happy Thursday!

This morning kicked off with a major focus on transportation, specifically talking about fixing our roads, an issue that is at the top of every township’s agenda right now. Ultimately, we want to repair our infrastructure and keep people safe, but it all comes down to funding. We need to delegate money directly to our municipalities and townships so they actually have the tools they need to better their communities. On top of that, flood relief is an incredibly urgent situation in our county. Too many people simply don't have the money or resources to bounce back from these tragedies on their own; it's just not financially possible, which is why we are prioritizing solving these issues and finding ways to prevent them in the future.

On a final note, make sure to check your mailboxes for our newsletter! This will be the last electronic one as we enter our campaign season, because we take the rules regarding legislative funds very seriously. Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend for our first Music at the Marv of the season and the farmers market! If you see me, feel free to pull me for a chat or just say hello, I look forward to seeing you all!

Thank you. My Uncle Bill died in the Battle of the Bulge. This weekend please take time to remember and honor all who served, gave their lives and those who are serving now.

It might feel like March, but we are in the full swing of spring!
This week, I joined Tim on WCLO to discuss last week’s bill. While it had plenty of great ideas from passionate advocates, the package itself was flawed. To put it simply, it budgeted with money we don’t have, and we can't risk putting Wisconsin into a deficit.
For the full breakdown, check out my WCLO interview, and as always, I’m happy to chat one-on-one to answer any questions.
With Memorial Day weekend ahead, I’m also reflecting on our relatives, neighbors, and all those who fought for our freedoms. I am incredibly grateful to serve this district and do my part for you!

It is a pleasure to join Tim for a conversation about legislation and our communities.

44th District Ann Roe joins us this morning with updates from Madison

And the punchline— if the bill passes it creates a deficit over the next several years— a hole WI will struggle to recover from. Short term relief— maybe. Long term pain— definitely.
