25 years ago, our nation was forever changed.

Today, we remember the innocent lives lost on 9/11 and honor the brave heroes who risked everything to save others.

Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We remember. We honor. And most importantly, we will never forget.

During my time in the Legislature, one of the top concerns I've heard from constituents is the lack of local control over the placement of industrial wind and solar facilities in our rural communities. That is why I joined with several of my colleagues to introduce legislation aimed at restoring local control. While this proposal was not signed into law this session, I remain committed to working on this issue.

This week, I joined Representative Travis Tranel for a tour of Creek Bed Farmacy near Poynette. We learned about how a large solar development is impacting their farm and agri-tourism business. Thank you to owners Darrell and Julie Schoeneberg, Lowville Town Chairman Brad Schack, and the many others who took the time to share their perspective with us. Learning more about these situations around the state will help Rep. Tranel and I as we continue to work to restore local control over these energy projects.

Yesterday, I had a good meeting with Troy and Susan Krombholz. They shared their perspectives on autism services and possible interventions for our district and state. Their insights will be valuable to me as conversations on this issue come up at the State Capitol. Thank you to Troy and Susan for your advocacy!

I had a great time at the Clark County Fair in Neillsville on both Friday and Saturday. One of my favorite parts of going to the fair is getting into the barns and meeting the young people showing their animals. It was also a pleasure to see members of the Clark County Fair Board, who put on an outstanding fair again this year.

Today is National Purple Heart Day. As America's oldest military decoration, the Purple Heart is presented to service members who were wounded or killed in combat while serving our country. On this day, we pause to acknowledge and honor our nation's Purple Heart recipients. May we be eternally grateful for their heroism and sacrifice.

Recently, I was honored to receive the Legislator Award from RAINN. I was pleased to work with Senator Howard Marklein this session on legislation to strengthen protections for victims of sexual assault, which was signed into law by Governor Evers in March.

On Saturday, I stopped by the Curtiss Corners Quilt Club annual quilt show. The highlight of this year's show were the 150 quilts they made for area veterans who will be participating in an honor flight. Thank you to club president, Kay Rinehart for the invitation!
