When your absentee ballot arrives, it will come with an envelope to return your ballot in. Before returning your ballot, make sure that on your ballot you put your signature, your witness’ name and signature, as well as the address of your witness. Ballots can be returned to your Clerk’s office or via drop boxes. The locations of these can be found by reaching out to your local Clerk’s office.

For those who have sent in an absentee ballot request, you are able to track your absentee ballot through My Vote Wisconsin. Ballots should be sent out 47 days before the election.

If you have not sent in a request and still plan to, then the deadline to do so is by 5pm the Thursday before the election.

Early voting is always available to those who would like it. If you have not registered for an absentee ballot before or have recently moved to a new location, then you will need to submit a photo of an acceptable Voter ID along with your request for an absentee ballot

Your photo ID does not need to show a current address. Poll workers will check the type of ID, name and photograph on the ID, and the date the ID expires.

Are you currently at a college out of state? It would be a good idea to double check your voter registration and make sure that you have plans to vote. Along with in-person voting places on campus, there might also be ballot boxes placed around campus for those who are doing absentee voting by mail. You can find out if you have ballot boxes on campus by visiting the registrar’s office for assistance. Just because you are out of state during the election doesn’t mean that your voice shouldn’t be heard. Remember to make a voting plan for November 3rd

There are three ways to vote: Absentee by mail, early in-person, and voting in-person on Election Day.

Voting early is beneficial when you find that you will be away from home, or that you will be too busy to make it to your polling place on Election Day.

You can go to your clerk’s office if you wish to vote early in-person, otherwise, the deadline to request an absentee ballot is by 5pm, five days before Election Day.

If you have changed your name or place of residence between now and November 3rd, then you’ll need to update your voter information as well. You are able to do this by going to myvote.wi.gov.

Here you will want to click on “Update My Name and Address”. You will need to put it in the name associated with your previous voter information before you are able to change it to what is currently accurate.
