To celebrate America 250, we will be holding a mock election that kids can participate in!
Voting will take place during library hours and you can look for the results on our website/ socials!

Opening June 3 in the Third Floor Gallery at Mahopac Library, "SEEN" features a series of photographic portraits from the world travels of Mahopac resident Debra Mayer.

The exhibit explores the extraordinary cultural heritage revealed, not in museums or tourism campaigns, but in unscripted encounters around the globe. A child gesturing with a shy smile. A woman enjoying street food. A goatherd proudly showing off a newborn kid.

The striking images were gathered over years of respectful street photography from Ms. Mayer’s extensive travel across five continents.

Come see over 30+ inspiring photos on exhibit through June 25, 2026.

The Third Floor Gallery at Mahopac Library is open to the public during regular library hours.

When a grumpy grandfather chaperones a pool party, there's one rule: Don't Splash Grandpa! Kids ages 5 -8 will love finding out how that turns out after a day of games and cannonball contests!

Local author Julie Gonzalez will be here for two sessions on Tuesday June 2nd to read her book "Don't Splash Grandpa!" Activities and fun will follow!

Being prepared for any emergency is as simple as planning ahead.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop: Tuesday June 9th, 6:00-7:00pm

Join representatives from the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps and learn how to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare, including creating a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies.

The Citizen Preparedness Corps is a New York National Guard Project

The MPL Trustees Election and Budget Vote is Tuesday June 2nd, one week from today!

On Monday June 1st at 6:30pm you can meet the trustee candidates and ask Director Michele Capozzella and the board members any questions you may have regarding the proposed 2026-2027 budget at the Annual Meeting

Mahopac Central School District residents should have received a copy of the MPL Budget Newsletter in the mail. We wish our neighbors, patrons and friends a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

The Library will be open on Saturday May 23rd from 9:30am - 3:00pm, but will be closed for the holiday on Sunday May 24th and Monday May 25th.

We'll re-open on Tuesday morning at 9:30am
