PLEASE RESCUE THIS BABY! This cat showed up at a residence in town earlier this week and has not left. Super sweet and friendly. It needs a loving home or someone knows who the owner is please contact. Animal control will be called later today if no one has responded. Currently it is at the Manito Village Hall. We have had some questions regarding scooters. A brief summary of the law is that you must be 18 years old to operate them and follow all the rules of the road. A municipality can adopt their own ordinance and rules regarding scooters, however Manito does not have one at this time. Below is a link where you can read all the information about this law. If anyone knows whose dog this is please notify them so they can come and get it. It's on North Washington Street however it will not come to anyone. Not a very good picture but a black and brown German Shepherd type of dog.

We have 2 sets of keys that have been found in the roadway and turned in to us. Both have been run over by vehicles and sustained damage. We also have several bikes that have been found abandoned over the last few years. If you can prove ownership, we’d love to get rid of them. 309-968-6010

MANITO AREA RESIDENTS. PLEASE HELP! We have posted on here several times and have asked pet owners to please put ID tags on their pets collars. We have had several issues lately with dogs running at large and no ID tags. When this happens, we try to post them on Facebook. It would be much simpler if there was an ID tag on the collar so that we can get your fur baby back to you safely. If there is no ID tag, animal control will be called and it will be taken away unfortunately. All we want to do is get your fur baby back safe to you. By putting an ID tag on the collar it will save you a $150 fine and more importantly your fur baby will get back to you safely and promptly. So today please take time and go get an ID tag with your name and phone number. Thank you and have a great day!

The Havana Police Department has been made aware of a text message scam circulating in our area. These messages may appear very realistic and are designed to trick recipients into providing personal or financial information under the guise of a “Notice of Default” or urgent court matter.

Please remember:
⚖️ Courts do not send legal notices via text message
🚫 Legitimate agencies will never ask for payments through QR codes
⏰ Messages that create urgency (such as claiming a hearing is “tomorrow”) are often scams

What you should do:
📵 Do not respond to the message
🚷 Do not scan any QR codes
📞 Do not call the number provided
🔍 If you have concerns, contact the court directly using official contact information

We encourage all residents to stay vigilant and help protect one another by sharing this information. If you receive a suspicious message, report it and warn others.

Does anyone know who this dog belongs to? It is running around town. It is currently by Casey's. It will not come to us and we do not want it to get hit by a car. If you know who the owner is please contact them.
