Mid-Iowa Community Action - MICA Helping families meet their needs, build on their strengths, and achieve their goals! We are a proud partner of the Food Bank of Iowa.

MICA's foundational programs include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Maternal and Child Health, Weatherization, Energy Assistance, and Family Development. MICA primarily serves families in Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story, and Tama counties. MICA provides some services through the USDA, which is an equal provider, employer, and lender. Nicole is your Tama Navigator and she comes with years of experience working in the community and with families.

Originally from Tama, she has a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a minor in Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration – Administrative Management from Kirkwood Community College.

In the past, Nicole has worked as a paralegal, special education paraprofessional, substitute teacher, and Head Start Assistant Teacher. She also has administrative experience in accounting and office management, and internship experience in behavioral health services.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three children and being involved in their activities. As a busy mom, she values making memories with my kids and spending quality time with family and friends. We enjoy being outdoors, traveling, thrifting, and baking.
