Good afternoon!

Our MES students are the best! Our 4th- and 5th-graders campaigned for Student Council. Many students have been setting goals to help them be better learners. GT music auditions were today. Some students were challenged with an escape room and engaged in problem-solving skills! Second graders completed their CoGat and Iowa Testing.

Coming up next week:
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Please see the attached flyer where students can dress up on Friday, October 30 as superheroes! We will also have an Assembly presented by Cornerstone on Tuesday.

Also on Friday, we hope you can come out to our PTO sponsored Trunk or Treat Event! See the flyer for more details.

Please see the information about another community opportunity for students:

Books on Main announces “The Nugget,” a new children’s reading area.

Join us on November 14, 2026, from 2- 4 p.m. for a special event celebrating our newly enhanced children’s reading area, added within the Books on Main location downtown. Dubbed “The Nugget,” this dedicated area within the store features inviting seating and wall murals that surround the numerous children’s books available to discover and purchase.

Storytime will kick off an afternoon of interactive games that feature a scavenger hunt, crafts, and goodie bags! Children of all ages are welcome to join in the festivities and must be accompanied by an adult.

Good afternoon!

MES has had an amazing week! GT Artistic Auditions, Donut Book Tastings, Students talking about goals, and many, many more wonderful experiences. Our faculty and staff are the best and they are "Growing Great Minds!"

Next week:
MES students are allowed to participate in the MHS Homecoming Spirit Week by dressing down/up. See the flyer.
Monday is the School Board Meeting at 6:00.
Monday after-school clubs meet: Legos and Chorus
Tuesday is Good News meets after school
Second grade will be completing their Iowa testing on Tuesday and Thursday.
Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Students dismiss at 11:30.

Congratulations, Deputy Bryant! We appreciate all you do for MES!

📢 - CONGRATS SRO BRYANT

- Please help us congratulate SRO Deputy Trek Bryant as he was awarded the M.C.S.O. Third Quarter “Most Outstanding Deputy” Award. Trek does a wonderful job at the Elementary School and is always willing to help out in any way. We are lucky to have him on our staff and can’t thank him enough for doing his job and doing it well! Congrats, buddy!!!
