Today, three Shelby County 4-H youth had the opportunity to participate in the Land Judging Contest at UT Martin and placed 3rd in the Junior Hugh division!

Land judging gives youth the opportunity to learn about soil and how different characteristics of the land can affect its use and management. Participants examine things such as soil texture, slope, erosion, and other land characteristics to determine how the land can best be cared for and used.

It’s a hands-on way for youth to build knowledge and skills in agriculture while putting what they learn into practice. We hope our 4-H members had a great time, enjoyed the experience, and most importantly, had fun while learning something new!

A huge thank you to Mr. Pearson for taking the time to train and prepare our team. We also greatly appreciate the support of our 4-H families who continue to encourage our youth and help provide opportunities like this!

Hello Shelby County👻🍀🐎🐴!! We have some extra good news from the horse's mouth!!

Last night was the West TN FFA Regional Horse judging contest at UT Martin! Two of our showgirls🧡👸💚👑, Olivia Morgan Heather Byrne Morgan and Claire Sanders Charli Henry Sanders) participated with Munford FFA Chapter!

🏆Munford FFA are REGIONAL CHAMPIONS out of 24 teams
🏅5th overall Individual: Olivia Morgan out of 95 youth
🏅24th overall Individual: Claire Sanders out of 95 youth

At our recent WR Administrative Professionals Day, two lovely ladies paid homage to our girl Dolly with their outfits. Ms. Regina in her Coat of Many Colors- inspired dress and Ms. Mary Anne in the classic Dolly in denim 70's look. You all rocked it!

Hello Shelby County 👻🍀🐴🐎

Yesterday we kicked off the 2026-2027 year with a BANG with our friends from Collierville FFA, Munford FFA and Jeter FFA!!

At Shake Rag Ranch, youth got to practice Western horse judging skills and learn from local top judges Kendra Moss and Patti Barber!!

Agent Kyla even traded in her English🇬🇧🎩🫖 riding gear for a western saddle!

Seniors then had to give reasons to their placings.

It was a great clinic that helped our 4-Hers and FFA friends apply and practice their horse judging for the upcoming contests!

We cannot say thank you enough to Carol Rose Robinson for hosting, our amazing judges for their expertise, our volunteer riders and handlers!!

Our Honor Club members spent the evening at Collierville Victory Garden getting their hands dirty and serving their community!

Together, they harvested over 50 pounds of sweet potatoes, planted cabbage, turned the soil in raised beds, and tackled a few other garden chores along the way.

Our 4-H members are learning the value of service, teamwork, agriculture, and giving back to their community. We’re proud of these youth and the work they’re willing to do to make a difference! We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Collierville Victory Garden and proud of what our members accomplished!
