And curtains up! Our Virgin Valley Theater students are officially OFF TO NATIONALS today! 🎭✈️🌟
The cast and crew met up at the high school early this morning to head out for an unforgettable week of performing, competing, and learning alongside the best young talent in the country. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and artistry! 📜🎭
This morning, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the amazing Mesquite community. Thanks to our phenomenal local residents and businesses, our theater department raised the funds this trip! 💰🙌 Because of your immense generosity, flights, conference fees, and hotel rooms are completely taken care of so these students can just focus on shining on stage. ✨🏨

Summer days are filled with fun and relaxation for our students, but behind the scenes, our incredible custodial crew is working hard every single day! ☀️🧹🐾
We caught them in action today inside the Bowler Success Center, completely transforming the space from top to bottom. They are doing the heavy lifting to make sure our campus is a pristine environment where parents and students feel completely welcome and comfortable:
🎨 Touching up the paint
🧽 Scrubbing down the walls
💡 Deep-cleaning and dusting the light fixtures
🧼 Shampooing every inch of the carpets
There is a very clear reason our campus looks absolutely beautiful year after year, and a massive part of that success belongs entirely to our custodial rockstars. They see the details that everyone else misses, and they take true pride in keeping our school sharp! 🧼🏢✨

The ultimate leadership duo! 🐾👑📋✨ We ran into our incredibly diligent and amazing Student Body Co-Presidents earlier today, and they are already hard at work!
History is officially being made this school year at Virgin Valley, as Kenzie and Weston are stepping up as our very first Co-President leadership team in school history! 🤩🙌 These two work absolutely phenomenally together, and their combined energy is going to make this an unforgettable year to be a Bulldog.
We caught them right in the zone, completely buried in organizing massive summer projects and—yes, you guessed it—getting a head start on Homecoming 2026! 🏈🕺💃 (Go ahead and mark those calendars for September 25th! 🗓️📍) Kenzie and Weston, thank you both for spending your summer break making sure our student body has the best year yet. We are so incredibly excited to see your leadership in action! 💚🤍

Bringing a burning piece of VVHS history back to life! 🔥🐾🛠️
Years ago, the talented students in the Virgin Valley welding class created a massive, iconic Double V structure that was placed into the landscape surrounding the football field. For generations of Bulldogs, this structure was the ultimate symbol of game-day hype—before home games, students would wrap the V’s in burlap sacks and set them ablaze to light up the night sky! 🏈🔥🤩
Time took its toll on the historic metalwork, but we weren’t about to let this piece of student history fade away.
We teamed up with Dahlen Magoon at L&M Welding, and they have officially refurbished and powder-coated the structure to its absolute former glory! ✨🧱 Now, instead of sitting tucked away, the Double V has been permanently installed where it will be proudly visible to anybody entering the West parking lot at Virgin Valley High School! 🏫🚗
A massive thank you to Dahlen and the entire team at L&M Welding for the incredible craftsmanship and care they put into this project. We are grateful for their work on a historic piece of student creation and help place it where it can celebrate the legacy of Virgin Valley students for decades to come.💚
Next time you pull into the West lot, keep an eye out for this legendary piece of Bulldog history! 👁️📐👀

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to the Mesquite Elks Lodge! 🐾 Tonight, the Elks Lodge hosted an incredible fundraiser dinner completely dedicated to supporting our amazing Virgin Valley FFA chapter. We had a phenomenal turnout with about 100 wonderful community members coming out to show their support for our agriculture students! 🤝✨
A special shout-out goes to FFA members Connor Mitchell, Hadley Robinson, and Shania Cummings, who stepped up to represent our chapter. They confidently introduced themselves to the large crowd and shared the impact that FFA has on their leadership and education. 🗣️👑
We are so blessed to live in a community that wraps its arms around our students and invests in their future. Thank you again to the Elks Lodge and to everyone who bought a ticket and attended tonight. You are helping our Bulldogs grow and succeed! 🚜💚

We are incredibly honored and proud to announce that the NIAA (Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association) has officially awarded Coach Leon Durbin a Lifetime Pass! 🎟️✨
For over 30 incredible years, Coach Durbin has poured his heart, soul, and wisdom into the classrooms, courts, and fields of Virgin Valley High School. He hasn’t just coached games; he has shaped the character, work ethic, and lives of thousands of local athletes and students across multiple generations. 🧬❤️
A massive THANK YOU to the NIAA for recognizing his unparalleled dedication to Nevada high school athletics. This is a rare honor, and it is something Coach Durbin has 100% earned through decades of sweat, mentorship, and loyalty to our valley.

Please join us in giving an incredibly warm Bulldog welcome to our brand-new Boys Varsity Volleyball Head Coach, Kevin Kornegay!
Yes, he is real—we promise! We don’t have his official headshot just yet, but his resume is so impressive we just couldn’t wait to share the news with Bulldog Country. 📋✨. Coach Kornegay is bringing a literal masterclass of experience, leadership, and athletic excellence to Virgin Valley. Just take a look at the caliber of leader joining our athletic department:
🏐 24 Years of Volleyball Coaching Experience at Saugus High School and Valencia High School.
🏈 26 Years of Football Coaching Experience.
🏫 27-Year Educator: Served as a physical education teacher, Special Education teacher (helping open Valencia HS), and the PE Department Chair from 1999 until his retirement in 2023.
🎓 Highly Credentialed: Holds a BS in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah and a Master of Education from the University of La Verne.
From managing top-tier athletic facilities and launching booster clubs to mentoring thousands of student-athletes, Coach Kornegay knows exactly what it takes to build a winning culture on and off the court. 🏆🏐
