Trail of the Week: Crows Nest Loop

If you’re looking for a hike that is a steady, rewarding climb with a big view payoff, Crows Nest Loop is a great choice in Wasatch Mountain State Park.

Starting from the Harold P. Fabian Visitor Center, this route follows the Huber Grove Trail before looping into the Crows Nest area. The trail climbs gradually on a well-maintained, hard-packed single track trail.

At the western tip of the loop, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning overlook into Snake Creek Canyon—a perfect spot to pause, take in the views, and catch your breath before continuing the return.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀:
• Display your day or annual pass, or check in through the app before heading out
• Be mindful of wildlife and give animals plenty of space
• If you notice soft ground or begin sinking, please turn around to help protect the trails

A solid choice for hikers who want a little challenge with a big scenic payoff.

Happy National Go Fishing Day!

Step away from the daily routine and head outdoors to enjoy a relaxing day on the water at Wasatch Mountain State Park pond. It’s the perfect spot to cast a line, unwind, and enjoy nature.

Fun fact: Fishing has been part of human life for thousands of years. Archaeologists have found evidence of it dating back to the Upper Paleolithic period—around 40,000 years ago. It has long supported families as a way to feed and sustain communities, while also becoming a peaceful and enjoyable outdoor tradition.
