Upgrading our gear to better serve our community! 🚒💦

Last February, our team kicked off an R&D process to find the absolute best hose and nozzle combination for our frontline apparatus. After months of testing, training, and collaboration, the upgrade is official! Our old gear is out and the new setup is packed and ready on all frontline rigs!

A massive shoutout to everyone who made this collaborative effort possible:

🔹 Equipment & Vendors: , Feld Fire Inc., Sea Western & Elkhart Brass

🔹 Training Grounds & Material Dev: Greeley Fire Department - Greeley, Colorado, Aims Community College, & Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District

We’re also proud to share that our retired hose is being put to good use! After 20 years of service, we’re happy to say it is being donated to Livermore Fire Protection District and Aims Community College to support future firefighter training and operations.

Honoring a Living Legend: Larry Weber Receives the Jim Young Lifetime Achievement Award! 🚒🏆

At yesterday’s board meeting, Front Range Fire Rescue had the absolute privilege of presenting Larry Weber with the Jim Young Lifetime Achievement Award.

With nearly 50 years of dedicated service and support to Johnstown Fire, Milliken Fire, and FRFR, Larry helped lay the groundwork for the organization we are today. From driving the historic department merger and pioneering our first paid-staffing program to securing land, apparatus, and expanded ambulance services, his vision has shaped every corner of our district.

Even today, Larry actively supports FRFR’s mission, using his deep community ties to help pave the way for Front Range Fire Rescue's future.

Thank you, Larry, for five decades of unwavering leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the FRFR Way. We are deeply grateful for your living legacy!

Tool Tuesday: Ep. 2 — Extrication Tools 🚗

When seconds count on a crash scene, these heavy lifters make all the difference. Today, Justin breaks down the power behind our extrication gear (aka the "Jaws of Life").

Because these tools are fully electric, no heavy hydraulic lines are holding us back, giving us great portability and speed when moving around a vehicle. From popping stuck doors to cutting high-strength posts, they deliver instant power right where we need it to get patients out fast and safely.
