🎒 Many back-to-school supply events are happening across Wisconsin this Saturday, August 15, to help children start the school year prepared!

HIGHLIGHTED EVENT FOR CHILDREN OF VETERANS

The Wisconsin Homeless Veterans Initiative is hosting Operation Back to School for children of Veterans and active-duty service members.

Together, we forge brighter futures for Veterans.

When Afghanistan Veteran BB entered CVI’s HVRP program, he faced housing challenges, underemployment, and uncertainty about his future. With personalized support and determination, he secured a welding position with an employer that recognized his experience and accommodated his service-connected challenges.

Today, BB is employed full-time with benefits, has earned a significant raise, and is preparing to buy a home.

Community support helps CVI provide additional assistance across all areas of Veterans’ lives ★ empowering them to build confidence, stability, and lasting independence.

Center for Veterans Issues’ Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program is supported by the U.S. Department of Labor. A total of $500,000, or 100% of the program, is financed with federal funds.

A heartfelt thank-you to National Guard Veteran Larry and his wife, Cherri, for generously donating a pool table to our transitional Veteran housing at Vets Place Central ★ complete with eagle-talon details that fit perfectly at CVI! 🦅It even doubles as a ping-pong table for twice the fun.

We are also grateful to Tony and Michael of Milwaukee Pool Table Movers for donating their time and professional services to move and set up the table ★ it looks fantastic!

This is community support in action. Thank you for creating more moments of connection, camaraderie, and fun for Veterans at VPC!

🌱 August Program Spotlight: Organic Therapy Program 🌱

Our Organic Therapy Program is growing again, thanks to the incredible support of our community and the dedication of the Veterans in our Transitional Housing Program. Together, they're creating a place where Veterans can heal, connect, and find purpose through gardening and shared experiences.
