🎉 Birthday Celebrations Look a Little Different at SOHE This Year! 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate our SOHE scholars in a special new way! Last Monday, September 21st, families joined us to celebrate students with August and September birthdays. Some families brought lunch to enjoy together, while students received pictures, special stickers, and recognition to make their day extra special!

Going forward, on the last Monday of each month, we’ll celebrate students who have birthdays during that month! Every student celebrating a birthday will receive a special sticker and treat during lunch.

We’re also excited to invite **parents/guardians to join their child for lunch** on their birthday celebration day! Families will receive a reminder and lunch schedule before each celebration with additional details.

A few important notes:
🎂 July birthdays will be celebrated in June.
💙 If your family does not celebrate birthdays, please message Mrs. Bailey so we can honor and respect your family’s decision.

We look forward to celebrating our SOHE students and making their birthdays feel extra special!

⚽️💙 SOHE Soccer is in Full Swing! 💙⚽️

Our 3rd and 4th graders have been hard at work every day learning, writing, practicing their skills, and preparing for their first soccer games!

Last Friday, our SOHE scholars took the field for two games, and it was so beautiful to see our families come out to cheer them on and show their support!

Games will be held on Fridays at Burnham Park, just a short walk from school. We can’t wait to see more soccer action, teamwork, and SOHE pride from our scholars!

Great job, SOHE soccer stars! Keep working hard and having fun!

📚✨ Lexia Learning in Action!✨📚

All across our grade levels, SOHE students are hard at work building their literacy skills through Lexia!

We’re loving seeing so many students reach their goals and earn certificates along the way. Some certificates are proudly going home, while others are finding a special spot right on students’ lockers!

Keep up the great work, SOHE scholars! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication!

✨ All Things PTO! ✨

Our first PTO meeting of the school year is October 1st, and we would love to see as many SOHE parents and family members there as possible! Your voice, ideas, and involvement help make our school community stronger.

🍩 Donuts are often available!
🇺🇸🇪🇸 Meetings are bilingual with Spanish translation.

We have 6 PTO meetings throughout the school year, and there are so many ways to get involved! We’re looking for parents who can:
🙋‍♀️ Volunteer at school events
🍎 Help run our teacher snack cart
🎨 Help organize and decorate our teacher lounge
💡 Share ideas and help plan activities for our students and families

Whether you can volunteer regularly or simply attend a meeting when your schedule allows, we want you to be part of the SOHE community! Every bit of support makes a difference.

Come join us, share your voice, and help us make this school year our best one yet!

✨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT✨

Seeds of Health Elementary will be open tomorrow. Our building is air conditioned and climate controlled. We will adjust outdoor recess and activities, as needed, and monitor the weather.

A new month is here, and we have plenty of exciting and important dates for our SOHE families to keep in mind!

🚌 Sending our 1st & 2nd Graders on a Field Trip
👩‍🏫 Holding two Professional Development Days for our teachers to collaborate, review student needs, and prepare for the weeks ahead

✨ A Look Into Our First Day of School! ✨

Our hallways were once again filled with the sounds of students and staff as SOHE came back to life for the start of a brand-new school year!

From learning new routines and procedures to participating in fun activities and icebreakers, our students jumped right into the school year with excitement and enthusiasm. We loved seeing so many smiling faces, new friendships, and students excited to be back!

Here's to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, laughter, and plenty of memories. Welcome back, SOHE!

🏫 A Message from Assistant Principal Kenn Zolltheis: Behavior Expectations 🏫

Our Assistant Principal, Kenn Zolltheis, has a quick message for our SOHE families about our behavior expectations and how we are supporting students this school year.

At SOHE, we are focusing on proactive approaches to student behavior that help children understand their emotions, communicate their needs, and take ownership and responsibility for their choices.

Our staff will work alongside students to understand what they need, address challenges, and provide the support necessary to help them successfully return to their learning environment. We believe that accountability and support can go hand in hand, and that every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and try again.

✨ Meet the Teacher Day Fun! ✨

A huge thank-you to the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum for bringing the Wonder Wagon to our Meet the Teacher Day! Our students had so much fun playing, laughing, exploring, and letting their curiosity lead the way.

We also want to give a big thank-you to all of our SOHE parents and guardians who joined us! We loved seeing families visit classrooms, meet and connect with teachers, ask questions, and complete their registration.

Thank you for helping us kick off the school year with so much excitement, curiosity, and community spirit. We can't wait for what's ahead!
