What is RISE?
RISE is a career and professional development program started in 2009 that provides experience and meaningful working relationships with local contractors, engineering firms, consultants and planners to prepare college students for success in the Greater Milwaukee job market. The program is sponsored by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) and conceived, developed and managed by Prism Technical Management & Marketing Services (Prism).
While all students are welcome, the program targets talented students of color, who completed high school in Milwaukee, WI or several surrounding suburban communities, and are currently engaged in science or engineering coursework at an institution in the United States. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to have a two-year internship experience for students, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree or higher and professional relationship skills upon graduation.
