The Little Free Food Shelf Project is looking for your help!

A group of neighbors in the Whittier/Lyndale/Uptown area of Minneapolis is building small boulevard food shelves to help expand food access and meet community need. The project is a practice of mutual aid grounded in the idea that everyone has something to offer, and everyone could benefit from some help.

Shelves are hosted, maintained, and stocked with food and other necessities by volunteers, providing ANY neighbor in need with access to free and nutritious food.

There are currently 6 shelves serving neighbors in the Minneapolis Little Free Food Shelf network. The group built a total of 12 shelves and is looking for hosts for those remaining.

The project is currently looking for:

-site hosts (most urgent need is west of Lyndale between 28th and Lake),
-stocking volunteers,
-and financial donations.

🌶 The Salsa Showdown is next week! Be sure to RSVP below to sample all the sauces. We'll have seven different salsas to sample from our community gardeners.

When: Thursday, August 20 | 6-8pm
Where: The SNAC Office (3537 Nicollet Ave - on the back patio)

What you can expect:

English, Spanish, and Somali interpretation
Salsa tasting, chips, and veggie snacks
Childcare and activities for ages 2 and older

Join LNA's Engagement Committee tonight for free books, quiet reading time, and refreshments available at Painter Park (620 W 34th St) today from 6-8pm.

Blankets, books, and refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks, or anything else that makes them feel comfortable.
