Somewhere today, an investigator is piecing together evidence in a child exploitation case. A prosecutor is preparing to bring an abuser to justice. A survivor is looking for someone who understands. A teacher is trying to recognize the signs that something isn't right.

Each of them needs help to take the next step. That's what Zero Abuse Project does every day.

Back to school is a good time to reset safety conversations with your kids.

Swipe through for a few simple things every family can do this year: help your child name their 5 safe people, talk about online safety, and revisit body safety basics together.

We also just published new research on our Empower Me! curriculum in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and we have free resources for schools too, including a mandated reporter policy template.

Our Summer Breakdown series has come to a close, but the work never stops.

This summer, we explored how Zero Abuse Project prevents abuse, prepares professionals, pursues justice, promotes healing, and partners with faith communities through our five centers.

Our team trained at two national conferences, Ai4 and the Crimes Against Children Conference, and released a new podcast episode. We're also supporting a documentary that carries Jacob Wetterling's legacy forward.

Upcoming ChildFirst and MDT trainings, now open for registration and applications!

From now through the end of 2026, Zero Abuse Project is offering a full lineup of virtual courses to strengthen forensic interviewing and courtroom skills:

August 19 to 20: Adverse Childhood Experiences & Comprehensive Trauma Informed Care Training
September 10: Testifying in Court for Forensic Interviewers
September 28 to October 2: ChildFirst National Course
October 15: Dolls & Diagrams
October 28: Emerging Issues in Forensic Interviewing
November 10: Follow Up Forensic Interviews
December 7 to 11: ChildFirst National Course

A few courses require an application and are limited to active multidisciplinary team members involved in child abuse investigation or prosecution. The rest are open for MDT registration, with applications and registrations reviewed to confirm a good fit.

UNRECONCILED returns to the Valley on July 25 at the Academy of Music in Northampton!

Jay Sefton and Mark Basquill's award-winning play comes home for a special performance, followed by a post-show discussion with Bessel van der Kolk (bestselling author of The Body Keeps the Score) and Licia Sky (Trauma Research Foundation), moderated by Strawdog member Melenie Freedom Flynn.

MassLive called UNRECONCILED's debut at Chester Theatre Company "the play to gain Chester Theatre and Sefton well-deserved national attention, whether it goes to Broadway, other regional theaters or to film. It's just that good."

Winner of the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Solo Performance and Outstanding World Premiere of a New Play, UNRECONCILED is now touring nationally and internationally, with a documentary about its journey currently in production.
