Attention Bluejacket Families!

Looking for a fun way to keep your child active and building skills this summer? Be sure to check out the Youth Basketball Camp happening June 16–19!

Students in Grades 1–8 will have the opportunity to learn basketball fundamentals, improve their skills, and have a great time with friends. Sessions are divided by grade level to provide age-appropriate instruction and plenty of fun!

A little rainstorm didn’t get in the way of celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our Happy Hatfield second graders as they prepare to complete their journey in primary school!

We could not be more proud of these intelligent, kind, hardworking, and hilarious students as they begin their transition to Burris next fall. While we will miss their smiling faces each day, we know they are ready for the next adventure ahead!

Second graders ...You have the ability to change the world. Go forward, make a difference, and continue being the amazing people you are. Hatfield will forever be cheering you on!

A BIG shoutout and thank you to the Burris-Hatfield PTO for all of the love and support you show our students and staff. Thank you for providing ice cream and all the good stuff to help make this celebration extra special! You are simply the BEST!

Celebrate America’s 250th this 4th of July with a fun-filled event just for kids! 🇺🇸

Join us for the “Zoom to the Moon” Bike Parade—a festive ride for children Preschool through 5th grade!

📅 Saturday, July 4
⏰ 10:00 AM
📍 Begins at Mitchell High School
🏁 Ends at City Park

🎉 This is a FREE community event, so bring the family and join the fun!

✨ Get creative and come parade-ready:
• Decorate your bike with patriotic flair
• Make a homemade “license plate” for your bike
• Bring along a horn, bell, or other fun noise-maker

🍋 This week at Hatfield, we learned an important lesson: Sometimes life throws you lemons… but with teamwork, positivity, and a little creativity, you can make lemonade. 🍋

What started as something not so great became an opportunity to create something beautiful together. Moments like these remind us that Hatfield is more than a place for academic learning...It’s a place where students learn resilience, kindness, problem-solving, and how to turn challenges into something positive.

As we head into the weekend, we hope this brings a smile to your face. We are proud of our Hatfield Family for always finding ways to make things better and supporting one another along the way.

The Mitchell Volleyball Youth Camp 2026 is just around the corner! Join Coach Kirk and staff for three evenings of skill-building, teamwork, and fun on the court.

Mitchell Community Schools is excited to announce the launch of our Bluejacket Virtual Academy for the 2026–2027 school year! 💻🎓

This program is designed for students in grades 6–12 and provides a flexible, high-quality online learning experience while still being fully connected to Mitchell Community Schools.

✔️ Full-time enrollment with MCS
✔️ Accredited curriculum through Edmentum
✔️ Instruction from certified teachers
✔️ Ongoing support and progress monitoring

Mitchell Community Schools values the benefits of in-person learning and encourages our current students to remain engaged within our school buildings; however, we are proud to offer the Bluejacket Virtual Academy as an additional option and welcome enrollment from students who are seeking a virtual learning environment.

THANK YOU to Bedford Rotary for visiting Hatfield Kindergarten classes today!

Rotary members shared the book How to Be Kind in Kindergarten with students and talked about the importance of kindness, learning, and helping others in the community. Each Kindergarten student also received a copy of the book to take home and enjoy with their families.
