Happy Hatfield is excited to celebrate our wonderful Grandparents with a special morning filled with smiles, memories, and time together! 🥰

Preschool: Thursday, November 19
Kindergarten: Friday, November 20 | 9:30–10:15 AM
First Grade: Monday, November 23 | 9:30–10:15 AM
Second Grade: Tuesday, November 24 | 9:30–10:15 AM

This post is an FYI to help families plan ahead! More information, including permission slips, will be sent home with students the week of November 2nd.

Students will also have the opportunity to go home with their grandparents on their specific Grandparents Day with a signed permission slip from a parent/guardian.

We can't wait to welcome our grandparents to Hatfield and make some sweet memories together!

🍂 HAPPY FALL BREAK, HATFIELD FAMILIES! 🍂

A big thank you to all of our families who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences today and throughout the week! We appreciate your partnership and the time you take to support your child's learning.

📅 Fall Break: October 12–16

Hatfield Elementary and all MCS Schools will be on Fall Break next week! We hope our students, families, and staff enjoy some well-deserved time to relax, recharge, and make wonderful memories.

We are looking forward to students and staff returning to school on Monday, October 19th! Have a wonderful Fall Break, everyone!

🏈 FALL BREAK STARTS WITH A LITTLE HOOSIER HYPE AT HATFIELD!

Happy Hatfield was pretty excited to have a special visitor stop by today as we geared up for Fall Break 2026...Hoosier the Bison! 🎉

Hoosier helped our students get fired up for IU Football, challenged some of our kids to a few rounds of rock, paper, scissors, stopped for LOTS of photo ops with his fans, and even helped keep the Hatfield office in order by answering a few phone calls! 😂

Needless to say, Hoosier brought plenty of excitement and smiles to Hatfield and helped us kick off Fall Break the Happy Hatfield way! A HUGE thank you to Hoosier for stopping by! We hope you have a fantastic Fall Break, Hatfield Families!

Reminder! Reminder! Reminder! The dentist is coming to Hatfield School on Thursday, October 22nd!

The School Smiles on-site dental program provides on-site dental care at our school for ALL students that sign up to participate. The dental team will be set up inside our school. They accept Medicaid, private insurance, offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation. Registration is now open online at: www.schoolsmiles.com/student-signup with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form. See the attached flyer for additional ways to register, don’t miss out after Fall Break!

HAPPY HATFIELD CLASS OF THE MONTH!

Congratulations to Mrs. Willoughby’s 2nd Grade Class for being named our September Class of the Month! This class was selected by our "secret voters" throughout the building for being exemplary in their actions AND academics! They have represented Hatfield with respect, pride, and a positive attitude throughout the entire month. Their hard work definitely didn’t go unnoticed!

As our Class of the Month, they’ll get to enjoy a “Mystery Prize” from Mr. Fountain following Mrs. Willoughby’s spin on the prize wheel! Congratulations, Mrs. Willoughby's Class! We are SO proud of you!

📸 Picture Retake Day Reminder!

Tomorrow is Picture Retake Day at Hatfield! We are sharing just a few reminders for retakes below.

This day is for any student or staff member who:
📷 Was absent on our original Picture Day
📷 Is new to Hatfield
📷 Would like to retake their picture

If your child is getting a retake and you ordered a picture package on the original Picture Day, please return the original package to our photographer. This will allow us to order the retake package.

Reminder: Scheduled Two-Hour Delay for THIS WEDENSDAY, October 7th!

MCS will be holding planned two-hour delay days on certain Wednesdays of select months: October 7th, December 9th, January 13th, February 10th, and April 7th. These days give teachers valuable time for collaboration and professional development to support student learning.
For Two-Hour Delays At Hatfield:
Car rider drop-off begins at 9:50 AM in the back.
Buses unload at the front at 10:00 AM.
No breakfast will be served on delay days due to lunch prep schedules.
Students may ride the bus or be dropped off—just two hours later than usual.

During these scheduled two-hour delays, teachers and staff will participate in valuable professional development meetings about reading, writing and math instruction, school safety, and social-emotional learning from 8:00-10:00 AM.
