This September, Monett Library Youth Services is focusing on something simple but important: reminding our teens that they matter, they are valued, and their community cares about them.

Throughout the month, we’ll be collecting supplies with a goal of collecting enough supplies so that we can put together 100 Self-Care Kits for Teens to offer a few small comforts and necessities to those who may need a little extra support.

We’re kicking off our collection Monday, August 31, and we’d love your help. Donations can be dropped off at Monett Library

Week One Donation Goals
100 pairs of fuzzy socks
100 gel pens
100 chapsticks
100 hair ties & scrunchies
100 mini brushes or combs

We’ll wrap up week one on Friday, September 4th with Ducky Day! We have 800 resin ducks ready to share, each with a little reminder:

“Today is Ducky to have you. Tomorrow needs you too.”

Kids can make and take as many ducks as they can until supplies run out!

Thank you for helping us remind the young people in our community that they matter, they are cared for, and they have people in their corner.

The time is closing in for our Happy McReader cards, unfortunately we have to report the program will be ending August 31st (valid for use until September 30th) With that being said we wanted to give our patrons a “last call” of sorts to get in and get reading to reach that goal of finishing a card to redeem a free happy meal! Thank you McDonald’s for this wonderful reading incentive!
