Tomorrow kicks off our End of School Year & Summer Reading Book Sale! Stop by and browse a wide variety of books for just $1 each, $3 per bag, or $5 per box. You can also purchase a Friends of the Library canvas bag and fill it for a $10 donation!

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. both days and will be open until 5:30 p.m. on Friday and end early at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday

Feel free to bring your own bag or box, as our supplies are limited; just make sure you can carry out all of your newly discovered treasures!

This weekend will also be your last chance to purchase tickets for an opportunity to win the beautiful crocheted dinosaur blanket! Don’t miss out on this cozy, one-of-a-kind prize! The winner will be announced and contacted on Saturday after the closing of the book sale.

Monett Friends of the Library Needs Your Help!

We've started our Spring Cleaning 2026 Book Drive and are collecting your gently loved books to prepare for our End of School Year Book Sale!

Join us for our next Book Drive Drop-Off Day
📅 Saturday, May 2
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Bring your gently used books and help support your local library while giving your books a second life! If you can’t make one of our drop-off days, that’s okay; books can also be brought to the library front desk during regular library hours.

PLUS: Saturday May 02 also marks the first drawing for our Summer Reading Fundraiser!
We’re giving away three handmade dinosaur-themed items—fun, unique, and perfect for all ages!

Heads up, friends—it’s tornado season. Many of us in the Ozarks are used to preparing for severe storms: cleaning out cellars, stocking go-bags, and checking weather alert batteries. But how prepared are we for an earthquake?

Earthquakes can strike without warning, and activity along the New Madrid Fault reminds us they are a real possibility in our region. Having experienced the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in California, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to be prepared for the unexpected.

Join us for an engaging community discussion focused on practical ways to stay safe during both tornadoes and earthquakes. We’ll cover essentials like building and maintaining go-bags, organizing 72-hour food supplies, and making simple home adjustments to reduce injury risks during emergencies.

After the discussion and Q&A, stick around for a fun game of bingo! Participants are encouraged to bring a small survival item to contribute as a prize, such as a flashlight, emergency blanket, or water bottle.

Let’s come together to learn, prepare, and support one another in staying safe.

Today is the final day of the Friends of the Library Craft Fair! Doors opened at 9 a.m., and will be here until 5:00 p.m.. We have an incredible variety of local vendors making this an excellent opportunity to get a start on that holiday shopping!
