Calling all artists! Monroe-Walton County Library is hosting it's third annual bookmark design contest and we are asking for your help! Simply make your own bookmark using the forms available for pick up at the library and turn it in at the front desk. You can draw a beautiful picture, write an inspiring quote or even do a bit of both. All ages are welcome to participate and the winners will receive a prize and have their bookmarks printed and distributed at the library. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Reading Kickoff this morning! We are so excited to see so many kids, teens and adults sign up for the summer reading program this year. If you weren't able to join us this morning, you can stop by the library any time during our operating hours to sign up. The Summer Reading Program ends July 25, 2026.

🌻 Help Troop 13672 Support Our Community!

​This Saturday, May 23rd, Girl Scout Troop 13672 will be hosting a donation drive at the Monroe Farmers Market from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

​Come out to shop and support your favorite local vendors, and please consider bringing a donation to help families in need! These donations will all be placed at the pantry inside the Monroe-Walton County Library.

​Most-needed items include:

​☀️ Kid-friendly snacks (now that school is out for summer!)
​🥣 Cereal, Mac & Cheese, and Pasta + Sauce
​🥜 Peanut Butter & Jelly
​🥫 Canned goods
​🧼 Hygiene products (toothpaste, soap, feminine products, etc.)

​Every little bit helps. Come see us this Saturday and make a difference in our community! 💚
