The officers and members of the Mombasha Fire Company extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to our brother firefighter, Pete Barba, and the entire Barba family on the passing of his father, Peter C. Barba.

We are grateful for Peter’s dedication and commitment to the fire service, and for the legacy he leaves behind—one that continues through his son’s service to our fire company. His contributions and example will not be forgotten.

Please keep Pete, and the entire Barba family, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace.

John was a giant in every sense of the word—not only in stature, but in his unwavering dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Monroe Fire Department. His mentorship, knowledge, and example shaped generations of firefighters and will continue to live on through all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Rest in peace, John. Your legacy will never be forgotten, and your memory will forever remain a part of the Monroe Fire Department.

We are proud to announce today’s graduation of our very own Joe Spinelli from completing Firefighter 1 training provided by the State of New York at the Orange County Fire Training Center over the last several months.

Joe joined our volunteer fire company, Mombasha Fire Company, and our firefighting community last year. He emulates the character we seek from new volunteers. Congratulations Joe and to all the other graduates from the Monroe Joint Fire District, today.

Joe earned class leader from his peers and the top rung award from his trainers. Great work!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our membership and our followers.
We have responded to more than 800 calls for service this year, one of our busiest.

As we reflect, we hosted and celebrated the 110th OCVFA parade and convention this past year. We celebrated with several events. We obtained some new members. We updated our landscaping and buildings and even had success with our fundraisers. It was a great year overall.

We still mourned additional losses this year from those that have served within our fire company. We remember all of you.

We hope everyone has a safe next few days. Enjoy the time with your families. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Mombasha Fire Company Tree Sale is now closed. The members would like to thank all who supported our fundraiser. We have many trees, still unsold. They are in the back lot fenced area at our firehouse. They are FREE for the taking.
