POWER OUTAGE — Athens area, U.S. Highway 441

A contractor hit an Atlanta Gas Light natural gas line near Athens Academy on U.S. Highway 441. At Atlanta Gas Light's request, we're cutting power in the area starting about 4:30 p.m. today so crews can repair it safely. The repair is estimated at five to six hours.

Affected areas include Athens Academy, Crystal Hills, White Oak Road and nearby apartments, businesses and homes.

Please stay clear of the work area. If you smell gas, leave and call 911.
