FROM THE HOUSE OF LORDS TO ROCKEFELLER CENTER: THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
In January 2026, leaders, visionaries, clinicians, diplomats, and global advocates gathered at the historic House of Lords, London, united by a bold belief:
A world where no child goes blind from preventable causes is possible.
That moment was not an end. It was the beginning of a larger global movement.
Today, we are honored to announce the next chapter.
✨ As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Eye Foundation of America (EFA) – 50 Years of Service (1977–2027), the International Day for a World Without Childhood Blindness will be commemorated on:
📍 Rockefeller Center, New York
đź“… Friday, January 29, 2027
While the International Day falls on Sunday, January 31, 2027, the global celebration will be observed on Friday, January 29, bringing together leaders from healthcare, philanthropy, diplomacy, academia, development, and humanitarian service.
The evening will also feature the Robert Murphy Visionary Leadership Awards, honoring extraordinary individuals and institutions advancing sight, hope, and opportunity for children worldwide.
For nearly five decades, EFA has worked toward restoring sight, preventing blindness, strengthening eye care systems, and transforming lives.
Now, as we mark 50 years of impact, we reaffirm an even bigger vision:
No child should lose sight because of where they are born.
No child should lose opportunity because blindness was preventable.
No child should be left behind.
From London’s House of Lords to New York’s Rockefeller Center, we invite the world to stand together.
One vision. One movement. One future.
A World Without Childhood Blindness.
