Monongalia County student-athletes spent the day at WVU for the 2026 Coach Don Nehlen High School Student-Athlete Leadership Summit—learning what it means to lead with character, teamwork, and purpose.

Through hands-on workshops and leadership sessions, students explored how skills built in sport translate to life, school, and beyond.

Proud of our student-athletes for representing our schools and community so well and investing in their growth as leaders.

Our students are learning more than reading, writing, and math—they’re learning how to make a difference.🌟

Today, students from Mylan Park Elementary and Cheat Lake Elementary presented their donation to WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s in support of the Brave New Gowns program. Their generosity will help bring comfort, dignity, and a little extra joy to children facing hospital stays.

What a powerful reminder of what can happen when young people come together to help others. 💙💛

Congratulations to Morgantown on bringing home the title and to University on an outstanding season. We are incredibly proud of both programs and the way they represented our district and our state. 💙💛🏆
