The 5th graders had fun designing Lego art that represented some conservation activities we have done with them over the last few years. The students created beaver dams, animal habitats, ponds, wildlife, and more! Thank you to Gray Family Foundation, and Ashley Macnab

Arbor Day Activities-Grade 3

It was a perfect day to go outside and plant shrubs with Ms. Farren's 3rd grade class. After an Arbor Day presentation in the classroom, the students designed their own trees and made tree bracelets. Then we all headed out on a little field trip up to the Bill Todd Memorial nursery to plant Oregon Grape and Bailey Red Dogwood shrubs. Thank you to Gray Family Foundation for providing funds for this project.

The SWCD enjoyed playing the Wetland Food Web game with Sherman County 5th graders this week. Thank you Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors (ECO) for the educational kit. Also, thank you to Gray Family Foundation, The Ford Family Foundation, and Roundhouse Foundation for funding our educational programs.

Happy Earth Day! Please come to the SWCD office today (in the USDA building, 2004 First St. Moro). We have native seeds and bareroot pine trees to give away. We will be here between 8:00am and 4:30pm
