How do we know your drinking water is safe? Skagit PUD collects and tests water samples throughout the system year-round to ensure drinking water meets state and federal standards.

Our annual Consumer Confidence Report is now available online and includes detailed information on water quality, testing, and the source of your water. https://www.skagitpud.org/home/showpublisheddocument/3341/639149503135630000

🏆 Our Top Ops team is heading to the national championship in Washington, D.C.!

Water Treatment Plant Operators Rob Sager and Riley Smith, along with Meter Technician Matt Walker, won the regional competition in Tacoma in May and will compete June 21-24 against the best water operators from across the U.S. and Canada.

Top Ops is like Jeopardy for the water industry — a fast-paced quiz competition where teams answer complex technical questions about water treatment, safety, and operations in just 25 seconds.

Congratulations to Rob, Riley, and Matt for representing Skagit PUD and the Pacific Northwest at the AWWA Annual Conference!

Water is part of everything we do every day. From the source to your tap, it’s treated, tested, and delivered through a system built to serve this community for the long term.

Providing safe, reliable water — today and for the future — is the work behind the scenes.

We’re celebrating 90 years of service (1936-2026) — and having a little fun with it. Since it’s April Fools’ Day, we used AI to bring this 1950s photo of crews working at North 4th Street and Fulton Street in Mount Vernon to life.

Some things have changed since then. The work hasn’t.

For 90 years, Skagit PUD has been providing water to communities across Skagit County. Today, the system serves about 116,000 people through more than 600 miles of pipeline.

While the system has grown, the job remains the same: delivering safe, reliable water every day.

March 22 is World Water Day.

This year’s theme is “Water and Gender: Where Water Flows, Equality Grows.”

In many parts of the world, women and girls still spend hours each day collecting water for their families. That time can limit opportunities for school, work, and community life.

Reliable access to safe drinking water changes that.

Here in Skagit County, most people expect clean water when they turn on the tap. Behind that moment is a system of treatment facilities, reservoirs, and more than 600 miles of pipeline delivering water to our community every day.

World Water Day is a reminder of the value of safe, reliable water—and the work it takes to keep it that way.
