Mount Vernon Police Department - WA

As a result of the ongoing investigation into the June 11, 2026 Mount Vernon homicide, a warrant was served in the 9000 block of Lacie Lane, Maple Falls, WA.

A 17-year-old Mount Vernon male and a 20-year-old Burlington female were arrested on charges related to their involvement in the homicide.

A third individual, a 26-year-old Mount Vernon male, was arrested on the charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (UPF). A firearm was also recovered with an obliterated serial number. This firearm is not believed to have been used in the homicide.

Mount Vernon Police Department investigators sought the assistance of the Whatcom Sheriff's Office and Bellingham Police Departments SWAT Teams and Crisis Negotiators.

This is an ongoing investigation. Information will be released as it becomes available.

After further investigation, officers were able to identify this 20-year-old suspect and book him into jail on his outstanding arrest warrant for Reckless Driving along with new charges for Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle and Driving with a Suspended License.

Thank you to everyone who called, messaged, and commented on our post that helped lead to his arrest. And for the record, he is not Jake from State Farm as someone suggested in the comments.

Do you know this motorcycle rider? He's been reported to be driving recklessly through the city. Officers have attempted a traffic stop on him twice and both times he's fled.

He's described as a white male wearing a camouflage helmet.
