This week we welcomed Ofc. Alex Guzman to our team. Alex comes to us with previous policing experience from the Wenatchee and Quincy Police Departments. Alex grew up in the Wenatchee Valley and attended Gonzaga University, graduating with a degree in Spanish. He earned his Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix in Education and taught Spanish at Pasco High School for 5 years. With his previous police experience, Alex will move right into his Field Training period. He is looking forward to getting to know and serve our community.

Tonight our Integrated Outreach Services team joined many others at the Skagit County Fairgrounds for an Overdose Awareness Event sponsored by Skagit County, Washington - Government, New Earth Recovery and R.I.S.E Recovery. This is an evening to remember those who we have lost to overdose, support those in recovery, and reduce the impact of substance use.

Tomorrow is the first day of school. Make sure you remember to slow down in those school zones. Officers will be doing extra patrols in the area to help make sure everyone is safe at those opening and closing times.

Officer Serrano and the Kulshan Creek Community Youth Group set off on an unforgettable adventure at the North Cascades Institute's Learning Center on the shores of Diablo Lake. Families dove into nature, explored wild trails, and paddled together across crystal-clear waters in canoes with laughter echoing off the mountain peaks.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing partners at Skagit Land Trust Glacier Peak Institute and Catholic Community Services of Western Washington for helping make this a journey to remember!
