🎨🎶 Let the creativity begin!

Our elementary students are kicking off another year of art and music! Instruments are coming out, paintbrushes are ready, and creativity is about to fill our classrooms and hallways. 🎺🖌️🎵

Thanks to the generosity of our community and Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) our elementary students benefit from art and music classes taught by professional artists and educators from Community School of Music and Arts

Explore our flexible, low-cost and convenient options for all families in our high-quality preschool program. MVWSD preschool has lower tuition, an extended/full-day class until 3 p.m. and part-day (3 hour) classes.

Our preschool offers age-appropriate early math, language, literacy and science inquiry instruction, as well as social-emotional development. Children who will be 3- or 4-years old are eligible (Minimum age: 3 years old by December 2, 2026. Maximum age: 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026.)

Preschool is located near Castro/Mistral Elementary Schools (1850 Latham St.) and Theuerkauf Elementary (1625 San Luis Ave.)

Just like students, adults learn best when they’re moving, sharing, and collaborating! Our teachers did just that as they dug into curriculum, grade-level expectations, and strategies for a successful year ahead.

Throughout the year, our teachers will continue working together on MVWSD Way initiatives to strengthen instruction and ensure every student receives rigorous, high-quality first instruction.

We’re beyond excited to welcome students back to school!

The first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 12, is a minimum day, meaning students will be dismissed earlier according to the schedule. Thursday, Aug. 13 is on the Thursday schedule (earlier than typical release). Friday, Aug. 14 will be a full school day for students.

For Transitional Kindergarten students only, the first two weeks of school (Aug. 12-14 and Aug. 17-21) will be on the minimum day schedule.

Our newest teachers hopped aboard the bus with the Superintendent for a fun tour of all our schools. Along the way, they learned about each campus, the unique communities they’ll be serving, and the shared commitment that connects us across the district.
