Plain Township Government Located northeast of Columbus, Ohio in Franklin County, Plain Township is home to 13,000 residents, including the City of New Albany.

We are home to thriving businesses, peaceful neighborhoods, great parks, and excellent schools. Located just northeast of Columbus, Ohio in Franklin County, Plain Township is home to 13,000 residents including the City of New Albany and the Plain Local School District. Originally settled in 1810, Plain Township is home to rolling farm fields, thriving businesses, quiet neighborhoods, great parks and schools, as well as some of the friendliest people you'll meet. Plain Township is governed by three elected Trustees who oversee all Township functions and services. The Township Administrator is selected by the Trustees and oversees the day to day business of the township government. The Township Fiscal Officer is responsible for all township finances and transactions.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, our staff and leadership gathered to pause, reflect, and remember.

We remember the thousands of lives lost that day and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by an unimaginable tragedy.

We especially honor the firefighters who courageously ran toward the danger to help others, knowing the risks they faced, and the 343 firefighters who never made it home. Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the profound impact of that day.

May we always honor their memory.
