New Castle Library Friends is a nonprofit organization supporting the New Castle Public Library in Historic New Castle, Delaware through fundraisers, group activities, and donations. The NCLF supports the Service and Mission of the New Castle Public Library by expanding its collections, providing materials and offering programs. Like everyone, we're so sad to hear of Dolly's passing. She was a real champion of literacy and reading who put her heart and her resources to work on behalf of children everywhere. ❤️

It's been a beautiful, busy Summer at New Castle Public Library! 📚

In addition to Library on the Loose and Outdoor Story Time events (the most recent of which was held in the library's lovely garden, pictured below), there have been bi-weekly lunch-and-a-movie events for kids, and a host of other fun programs and community events!

Thanks to the wonderful staff at our library for everything they do to keep our community engaged and growing together! 💙

To everyone who came out for today's Separation Day Book Sale & Raffle 2026 - and all of the wonderful volunteers and friends who made it possible - THANK YOU! 🤎🤎🤎

We had a wonderful time hanging out with everyone around the parade, love seeing smiles on the faces of readers as they find a new book - especially young readers! - and we hope to see you at our next sale at Art on the Green, the last Saturday in September!

We have Six AMAZING prize bundles you can WIN by stopping by our Book Sale tomorrow from 9-2. From bits of HNC history and charm to Summer essentials and America's Game, this round of baskets is America-250 (and HNC-375) ready! 🇺🇸

Raffle tickets are just $2 each - or get 3 for $5, or 7 for $10! ... More info on each prize is in the captions. Drawing at 2pm - Entrants do not have to be present (but are welcome). Winners will be called next week to pick up at the library, which all proceeds support.

The Separation Day Book Sale & Raffle is TOMORROW! 📚🎉

Please join us from 9am to 2pm (around the Separation Day parade) to 'Browse on the Bricks' (and in the library's beautiful conference room) at our BIGGEST book sale of the year! There are THOUSANDS of volumes in a dozen genres to choose from, plus library supporter merch, and RAFFLE PRIZES! 🎀

☝️ NOTE: If you are attending the Separation Day Festival after shopping, you will need to drop your purchases off at the car first... no backpacks or non-clear bags will be allowed into the festival area. We can hold purchased items until the sale ends at 2pm. Please plan accordingly. Thank you.

Kids get their first book FREE | Most Books $1-2 | Cash & Credit Accepted | All proceeds support New Castle Public Library!
