On the Historic City of New Castle wharf overlooking the Delaware River, enjoy live music by the Special Delivery Band, beer, wine, seltzers and non-alcoholic drinks along with food trucks in a block-party setting. Admission is free. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Proceeds from sale of alcohol benefit the Good Will Fire Company!

🇺🇸🇺🇸🎆🎆Separation Day 2026 is this weekend June 12th and 13th!

Residents and Visitors are reminded of important safety and traffic updates for this year's events:

🎒ONLY clear bags will be permitted.

🚲No weapons, backpacks, bikes, scooters, or skateboards are permitted.

⚠️Separation Day Parade Traffic Advisory - Friday, June 12th
Road closures will be in effect Friday afternoon on Delaware Street from East Second Street to the River for the Kickoff Party.

⚠️Separation Day Parade Traffic Advisory - Saturday, June 13th

A reminder that the annual Separation Day Parade will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 13. Residents should expect limited access and intermittent traffic restrictions before the event, with full road closures taking effect at approximately 11:30 AM along the parade route on Delaware Street from 6th Street to 2nd Street.

Super-Separation Day
This Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, New Castle is the place to be for Delawareans to celebrate our 250 years of “not being Pennsylvania” – no offense to our modern Keystone State friends and neighbors. Friday night’s 6-8:30 p.m. Separation Day festivities include live music, food and drink, while Saturday kicks off at noon with a Colonial-inspired parade, including the Caesar Rodney Ride 250 Reenactment with attorney Ciro Poppiti portraying the patriot. The day of live music, kids’ rides, an artisan/vintage market, community groups’ food sales, a beer garden and historic site visiting winds up with a fireworks show over the Delaware River.

⚠️⚠️Reminders from the New Castle City Police Department regarding anticipated Road Closures and Parking Restrictions for Separation Day ⚠️⚠️

Separation Day Parade Traffic Advisory – Saturday, June 13

The New Castle City Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that the annual Separation Day Parade will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 13.

The attached map outlines anticipated road closures and parking restrictions associated with the parade route. Residents are encouraged to review the map and make travel plans in advance, as access to certain areas will be limited throughout the event.

Traffic Control Officers (TCOs) will be positioned along the route prior to the parade to assist with traffic flow and facilitate the safe movement of participants and spectators. Residents should expect limited access and intermittent traffic restrictions before the event, with full road closures taking effect at approximately 11:30 AM.

Please plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted restrictions and directions provided by Traffic Control Officers. We ask everyone to be patient and respectful of personnel working to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all.
