Taking time to move your body can help reset your mind 🧠💪

Even small amounts of movement, like a short walk, time outside or simply getting some fresh air, can help reduce stress, improve mood and clear your head.

It doesn’t have to be complicated to make a difference.

If stress starts to build, support is always within reach.

Call, text or chat 988 to connect with a trained counselor who is ready to listen.

Representatives from DSAMH, including the Post Overdose Response Team (PORT) and Bridge Clinic teams were in Millsboro recently to attend the Sussex County DSS / Family Support Services’ May Community Resource Fair at Coras Wellness & Behavioral Health.

The event featured over 25 agencies and allowed participants to connect with local agencies and community partners to explore the resources available to them and their families.

DSAMH representatives, Mark, Laurel, Dave, and others were on hand to provide Naloxone training, distribute Opioid Rescue Kits, wound care kits, and promote programs and services available for veterans.

Prevention Today. A Healthier Delaware Tomorrow.

The numbers tell a compelling story:
90% of adult smokers began their journey before the age of 18.

Ni****ne is highly addictive, and for young people, the path from a single purchase to lifelong habit is dangerously short.

The mission of the SYNAR program is to break the cycle before it can begin.

By ensuring retailers stay vigilant and compliance remains high, we aren't just following the law, we are safeguarding the health and the potential of Delaware’s youth.

The Impact of Your Vigilance:
• Breaking the Cycle of Dependency: By preventing underage access, we significantly reduce the likelihood of long-term health complications and addiction in adulthood.

• A Community of Support: This effort is powered by the professional partnership between the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) and Delaware Alcohol & To***co Enforcement (DATE), ensuring every inspection is fair, transparent, and focused on our shared public health goals.

• Sustaining State-Wide Health: Our success in maintaining high compliance rates secures the federal block grants funding for critical prevention and recovery programs for all Delawareans.

Every ID checked and every underage sale denied is an investment in a healthier future.

A stronger, safer Delaware starts with you.

The SYNAR Amendment is a federal law requiring states to curb youth to***co access to secure vital block grant funding for substance use prevention and recovery services.

Delaware consistently ranks in the top 5 nationally for compliance, a feat achieved through the diligent work of our retailers and professional oversight by Delaware Alcohol & To***co Enforcement (DATE).

When you see a compliance check, you witness Delaware’s commitment to securing the resources needed for a healthier, safer community.
