In celebration of , we are proud to spotlight Tammy Duckworth. 🌸

Born in Thailand to an American father and Thai mother, Tammy Duckworth became the first Thai American woman elected to Congress. After losing both of her legs while serving as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot during the Iraq War, she became a dedicated advocate for veterans and people with disabilities.

Throughout her career, Duckworth has worked to expand accessibility, improve healthcare and support services for veterans, and advocate for disability acceptance within public spaces and transportation.

At Easterseals Louisiana, we believe disability is only one part of a person’s identity. Every individual’s culture, experiences, and strengths help shape a stronger and more welcoming community. 🌟
