Don't throw away your old phones!

The New Port Richey Police Department is happy to send them to our friends over at the 911 Cell Phone Bank in Ocala. Your donated phones are then cleared and repackaged to be provided to people in our community who need a 911 cell phone. This may include people experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, or the elderly. Phones that cannot be repurposed are then responsibly disposed of.

They work with smart phones, flip phones, and tablets. You can drop off your old devices at the New Port Richey Police Department front desk from 8am until 5pm during the week.

In December 2025, detectives were informed that a City of New Port Richey grant in the amount of $3,972.08 had been awarded and paid to Your Fencing Pros, LLC for the installation of a fence at a local residence. The homeowner had applied for assistance through the city’s grant program which is intended to assist low-income homeowners with necessary home or landscaping repairs that they may otherwise be unable to afford.

As part of the selection process, contractors submitted bids to perform the work. On July 1, 2025, Your Fencing Pros, LLC was notified that it had been awarded the contract. The City subsequently issued payment to the company for the full grant amount.

As of January 5, 2026, it was determined that no work had been started or completed at the residence. Repeated attempts to contact the company regarding the delayed project were met with excuses and continued delays.

On May 22nd, 2026, Kayle Colvin, owner of Your Fencing Pros, LLC, was arrested for grand theft and violation of probation.

If anyone believes they are a victim in a similar case involving Your Fence Pros, LLC, please contact the New Port Richey Police Department at 727-841-4550 option 1.

On May 20th, members of our L.I.F.T Unit had the honor of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for a new sober living house in our community. Steps to Recovery is opening a 30 room transitional housing facility for Veterans located at 5801 Trouble Creek Road.

This event marks an important step forward in supporting Veterans working towards recovery, stability, and a healthier future. Sober living homes provide structure, accountability, and encouragement for those rebuilding their lives, and partnerships while strengthening the overall wellness and safety of our community.

We would like to thank the local officials, op**te task force board, community leaders, dignitaries, service providers, and all who attended today’s event. Your continued support and commitment to recovery resources, public safety, and community wellness make a meaningful difference.
