Today, our hearts are heavy as we learn of the tragic loss of a Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputy.

The men and women who serve in law enforcement carry tremendous responsibilities and face difficult circumstances that most people will never see. Behind every badge is a person, a family, and a community that cares about them.

We extend our deepest condolences to the deputy’s family, friends, fellow deputies, and everyone at the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. We stand with our law enforcement family during this incredibly difficult time.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office shares with profound sadness that a PSO Deputy took their own life this morning in the Charles Bo Harrison Wy. area of Land O’ Lakes.

On Aug. 19, around 8 a.m., the Deputy was found deceased inside PSO’s construction facility with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Today the Life Improvement Facilitation Team attended the Keiser University career fair in New Port Richey. They were able to meet students and aspiring future professionals in law-enforcement. LIFT described the positions within the department, BayCares collaboration, and the amazing culture here at the New Port Richey Police Department.

The New Port Richey Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the pictured individuals.

The subjects are suspected of using a fraudulent or counterfeit credit card to purchase several thousand dollars' worth of collectible Pokémon cards from a local business. After the transaction, the subjects left the area in what is believed to be a late-model Chevrolet Malibu.

Investigators believe these individuals may be involved in similar fraudulent transactions in multiple jurisdictions.

We are so grateful for our friends at Wal-Mart (store 994) for gifting us with a Bexley Box! These boxes are filled with toys, diapers, wipes, sippy cups, etc. There boxes are designed to support children who are unexpectedly separated from their caregivers during crisis situations. We appreciate the donation Wal-Mart!

We are seeking the public's assistance as part of an ongoing fraud investigation involving boat slip rentals at Widow's Marina, located at 4927 US Highway 19.

Investigators are attempting to identify anyone who rented a boat slip at Widow's Marina between January 2025 and the present. If you rented a slip during this time, or have information that may assist with this investigation, please contact Det. Cpl. Ioppolo at 727-232-8905.

In an effort to make New Port Richey roadways safer, the New Port Richey Police Department is partnering with the Florida Department of Transportation District Seven through an Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement (ELEE) program. From July 1st until March 31st, 2027, you may notice an increased presence on our roadways as officers strive to increase public awareness of safe driving.

Today, our L.I.F.T. Unit (Life Improvement Facilitation Team) spent time downtown and along the newly renovated Railroad Square connecting with local business owners.

During these visits, the L.I.F.T. Unit shared information about the services they provide and how they connect individuals with mental health, substance use, and quality-of-life resources. These face-to-face conversations are an important part of building trust, identifying community concerns, and ensuring our local business community knows about the resources available to those in need.
By strengthening these partnerships, we continue working together to build a safer, healthier, and stronger community. Education is key, especially in the New Port Richey area, where so many charities and volunteer organizations are dedicated to helping others.

We are grateful for the continued support of our local business owners and their commitment to partnering with law enforcement to improve the quality of life in our community. Together, we can continue building positive relationships and creating meaningful solutions.

Today, the Life Improvement Facilitation Team visited the New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center to talk to summer camp students about safety and to show them some cool gear! The students were from middle and elementary schools throughout the county and took part in a Q&A session about a future career in law enforcement.

It has come to our attention that individuals may be spoofing our department’s phone number to contact citizens. Our agency will never call and request money, payment, or personal identifying information that could be used to facilitate fraud.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to represent our agency and you believe the call is suspicious, do not provide any information. Instead, hang up and verify the caller’s identity by contacting our agency directly through a known, official phone number. 727-841-4550.
