25 years on, we remember.

Today, Australian soprano Amber Evans performed the United States National Anthem at the Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden in New York, as we joined our Commonwealth family and the wider New York community to honour the 2,977 people whose lives were taken on September 11, 2001, including 10 Australians.

We remember those who were lost, their loved ones, the survivors and first responders, those that have been lost since and all those who continue to carry the weight of that day.

Australia stands with New York and the United States in remembrance.

AUSSIES IN NEW YORK: Episode 4 ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒž

We headed out to Long Island City to chat with artists Nick Modrzewski and Nabilah Nordin in their studio.

Their incredible, bright, otherworldly paintings and sculptures filled the space as Nick and Nabilah let us into their creative world and gabbed about making art, living together, and building a life in New York. ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ
