๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ๐ŸŒŽ Advancing Opportunities for Our Young People at Home and Abroad

On August 26, 2026, the Consulate General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in New York hosted Mr. Marshall Bailly II, Executive Director of Leadership Initiatives (LI), and facilitated an engagement with members of the Diplomatic Corps, including CARICOM Permanent Representatives to the United Nations and Consuls General.

The engagement built on the growing partnership between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Leadership Initiatives, which is creating opportunities in education, leadership, mentorship and professional development for young Vincentians at home and across the Diaspora. Discussions also explored opportunities to broaden these initiatives and strengthen collaboration across the wider Caribbean.

Special appreciation is extended to H.E. Ambassador Vynette Frederick and Consul General Lorenzo Harewood, along with their respective teams for graciously hosting the engagement and supporting this important initiative.

The Consulate remains committed to forging partnerships that connect Vincentians with meaningful opportunities, global networks and pathways for personal and professional development.

๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Advancing Security Cooperation

On August 25, the Consulate General facilitated an engagement at One Police Plaza between Deputy Prime Minister Major the Hon. St. Clair Leacock, senior NYPD officials, and members of the clergy.

Discussions with NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Community Affairs Alden Foster focused on crime prevention, community policing, technology, and training and capacity-building opportunities for the RSVGPF, building on earlier discussions on specialised close protection and domestic violence response training.

Special thanks to Mr. Gregory Thomas, Senior Executive for Law Enforcement Operations with the Kings County District Attorneyโ€™s Office, for facilitating the engagement.

Building on the Consulateโ€™s earlier engagement with the NYPD, follow-up discussions are anticipated to translate these conversations into tangible benefits for the RSVGPF and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ Strengthening Friendship Through Youth Diplomacy

On Tuesday, August 25, the Consulate General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in New York, together with the Permanent Mission of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations, was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Taiwan Youth Ambassadors Programme.

The delegation, comprising university students, representatives of the Youth Ambassadors Association, and officials from Taiwanโ€™s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spent time with SVG officials and youths, ahead of their journey to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

During an engaging and interactive exchange, conversations focused on youth diplomacy, public diplomacy, international cooperation, cultural exchange, and the important role young people can play in strengthening cross-cultural understanding and fostering lasting relationships between nations.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to reflect on the longstanding friendship between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the importance of youth and people-to-people exchanges in further strengthening the bonds between our two countries.

We were delighted to exchange perspectives with these inspiring young ambassadors and to welcome them as they embarked on their Caribbean journey.
The Consulate General extends its very best wishes to the delegation for a productive and memorable visit to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and for a successful continuation of the Youth Ambassadors Programme. ๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ
