Our Lighthouse Museum first floor invites day visitors & overnight guests alike to step into the world of a lighthouse keeper—explore artifacts, learn how keepers watched the weather and cared for the light, and take in the views across Narragansett Bay.

Happy National Lighthouse Day!

On this day in 1993, the Rose Island Lighthouse restoration was completed and, for the first time in over 20 years, the Lighthouse was back in operation beaming a beacon from the tower 48 feet over Narragansett Bay to help guide ships and shipping traffic up into the bay. Rose Island Light is officially considered a Private Aid to Navigation, sanctioned by the U.S. Coast Guard, but maintained by the non-profit Rose Island Lighthouse & Fort Hamilton Trust.
