Team, today in history, President George Washington signs the Naval Act of 1794 "an act to provide a naval armament" authorizing the construction of six frigates: United States, Constellation, Constitution, Chesapeake, Congress, and President. A personal favorite of mine, "Six Frigates: The Epic History of the Founding of the U.S. Navy" by Ian W. Toll, tells the story of our U.S. Navy’s beginnings and can be found on my professional reading program list. The books on this list have influenced my leadership development and I encourage you all to take a look and expand your minds.
