🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️ Cross Country Spotlight! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️

We had a great week for our Cross Country team! Last Wednesday, our athletes competed in the Catawba County Championship Meet at Murray’s Mill, where the top 10 finishers earned medals. We are incredibly proud of our three male athletes who brought home medals, Michael Smyre finishing 3rd, Liam Sanchez finishing 4th, and Jefferson Castro-Reyes finishing 9th place! 🏅

This team has put in countless miles, pushed through tough workouts, and continued to show their dedication to this challenging sport. We are so proud of their hard work and accomplishments!

But our team knows that being an athlete is about more than what happens on race day….

Last Friday, our Cross Country team visited South Newton Elementary as part of their United Way Service Project for the XC Invitational Meet that will take place on Oct. 14th at Southside Park in Newton. Our athletes spent time reading to students and sharing their love of reading with some younger Tigers! 📚🐯

We are proud to see our athletes compete hard, serve others, and be positive role models in our community. If you can, catch them today competing at Riverbend Middle School! Boys race at 5:00, Girls race at 5:40! ⏱️🏁♥️
