It's not everyday the Governor of the Great State of Alaska is in our house. He was in our station for a bill signing yesterday. It was the last bill he is expected to sign and it was in OUR house. Being able to host our Governor for this event was a great experience and we are humbled to have been asked.

They all come home at some point. Captain Dave Black circa late 1980's came by to check on us while in town for a family celebration. All departments need this from time to time. We talked about training, former members, rigs, dinners, fires and our programs both current and past. Our history is important and we need to hear it from those that lived it. And just like that, he's all grown up and leaves the nest. We said "See ya on the big one" to FF Jake Philips. He is transitioning back to his first department, North Pole Fire Department as a new firefighter. We hope he brings new skills, confidence and an eternal love for the job. "Ya won the lottery kid" Thanks for letting us be a part of your story. ,
