Our shared parenting champion is moving onto the State Senate! Time to get shared parenting passed in Michigan!

VICTORY!

Last night, the voters of the 33rd Senate District spoke. They looked at four candidates, and they chose the one with a record. Not promises. A record.

I have spent my time in Lansing fighting for my constituents. For our farmers. For our veterans. For our kids. For our way of life. And tonight West Michigan led the way in saying keep going.

I want to thank my family, who stood by me through every long day of this campaign. I want to thank every volunteer who knocked on a door in the heat of July. And I want to thank every local leader across these seven counties who looked past the noise and stood with someone who will fight for our shared values. That support was not given lightly, and I will not take it lightly.

This primary is over. But the fight for the 33rd District is not. In November, we face a Democrat who will rubber stamp the same failed agenda we have been fighting against for years. Higher taxes. Less parental control. Weaker public safety.

I am not done. I am just getting started. Let's finish this in November!

God bless you. God bless the 33rd District. God bless Michigan!

It’s disgusting that it’s okay for the State Bar of Michigan to ensure that each child has representation but apparently it’s not okay for them to say it’s not okay for each child to have equal access to both parents after separation/divorce.

With HB5211, children will be able to have a equal relationship with both parents unless there is “clear and convincing evidence” that shows one of the parents is unsafe for the kids to be around.

It’s not okay for kids to be separated from good, healthy parents.

After 1 a.m. this morning, the Michigan Legislature took an important step toward ensuring every child has access to the legal representation guaranteed by our Constitution.

The Legislature gave final approval to the last remaining measure in a package of 20 juvenile justice reforms, sending it to Governor Whitmer for her signature. The State Bar of Michigan has championed this effort to establish statewide minimum standards for youth defense, working alongside legislators and justice partners for the last five years.

A late night—and a powerful reminder for all of us in the legal profession that our work changes lives, strengthens our justice system, and fulfills the promises of our Constitution.

Parental Alienation is not just child abuse, its also domestic violence against many other members of the childs family and support system.

This is just another reason why its so important to pass HB 5211 - 5213!

Michigan for Shared Parenting (MFSP) is proud to formally endorse Jimmie Wilson Jr for Michigan House of Representatives District 32.

His campaign reflects a focus on practical solutions, community engagement, and protecting the rights and well-being of Michigan residents. Jimmie Wilson Jr. Campaign

In Michigan, where nearly 20,000 divorces occur each year on average, a significant number of children are directly impacted by custody determinations. In these cases, public policy must prioritize the continued and meaningful involvement of both fit and loving parents in the lives of their children, whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Representative Wilson Jr. is the primary sponsor of House Bill 5212, a key component of the Michigan Shared Parenting legislative package. This bill advances a modernized custody standard that establishes a presumption of shared parenting unless clear and convincing evidence is presented demonstrating that such an arrangement would not be in the best interest of the child. This approach ensures that children are not unnecessarily deprived of a meaningful relationship with either parent.

Michigan for Shared Parenting recognizes Jimmie Wilson Jr.’s leadership and his commitment to strengthening families and improving outcomes for children across our state. For these reasons, we are proud to offer our formal endorsement of his candidacy for Michigan House District 32.

ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: BeGole for State Representative

Michigan for Shared Parenting (MFSP) is proud to formally endorse Brian BeGole for Michigan House of Representatives District 71.

Brian BeGole has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and to policies that strengthen Michigan families, support local communities, and uphold the fundamental rights of parents in the upbringing of their children. His campaign platform reflects a focus on accountability, public safety, and ensuring that government action remains responsive to the needs of the people he seeks to represent.

In Michigan, where nearly 20,000 divorces occur each year on average, a significant number of children are directly affected by custody determinations and family court outcomes. In these cases, it is essential that public policy begin with a strong presumption that fit and loving parents should maintain meaningful, equal involvement in their children’s lives whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Representative BeGole is the sponsor of House Bill 5213, which advances a shared parenting standard by establishing a presumption of equal parenting time unless clear and convincing evidence is presented to demonstrate that such an arrangement would not be in the best interest of the child. This legislation represents an important step toward modernizing Michigan’s approach to custody and ensuring that children are not deprived of a meaningful relationship with either parent without substantial justification.

Michigan for Shared Parenting recognizes Brian BeGole’s leadership and his willingness to advance meaningful reforms that prioritize children’s well-being while protecting the rights of both parents. For these reasons, we are proud to offer our formal endorsement of Brian BeGole for Michigan House District 71.
