Wisconsin voters cast their primary ballots yesterday — but big money had been shaping some of the state’s biggest races long before the polls opened.
❗ Nearly $3.6 million from the Republican Governors Association on ads in the Democratic primary for governor, targeting Francesca Hong.
❗ Millions moving through a donor network supporting Rebecca Cooke in WI-03, with some of that financial backing not fully visible to voters until late in the race.
❗And in WI-07, $1 million from U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s former congressional campaign account, transferred to a super PAC supporting his son-in-law, Michael Alfonso, who went on to win the Republican primary.
Different candidates. Different parties. Different kinds of political money. Same system.
Long before we cast our ballots, money helps determine who can compete, who gets heard and which messages voters see again and again.
Voter Dollars offers a different way: give voters the money to give, so candidates answer to the people they want to represent.
Join us, and together we can make voters the donors and restore government by the people.
