Sponsor Spotlight: Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library
📚 Serving the community since 1847.
That’s not just history—that’s generations of connection, learning, and community impact.
Today, we’re proud to recognize Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library as a valued sponsor of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce. 💙
Located in the heart of Odessa, Corbit-Calloway began with a bold idea: to create Delaware’s first free public library, open to all. At a time when access to many libraries was limited, Corbit welcomed women and children too—helping pave the way for what a truly public library could be.
More than 175 years later, that mission continues.
Today, Corbit-Calloway is a welcoming community hub where people of all ages and backgrounds can explore, learn, connect, and belong. Its collection has grown to nearly 55,000 items, including its distinctive Delaware Collection, while its programs and resources continue to evolve with the community it serves.
đź’™ And behind that mission are people committed to carrying this incredible legacy forward.
We’re especially proud to recognize Katryna Cera-Proulx, Library Director and Librarian, who holds a Master of Library & Information Science from the University of South Florida.
Under Katryna’s leadership, the library continues to be more than a place to find a book—it’s a place where our community can gather, discover resources, make connections, and feel like they belong.
As an independent nonprofit, Corbit-Calloway relies on community support, grants, donations, and fundraising to continue its work. That makes their commitment to also supporting organizations like MACC even more meaningful.
👏 Katryna and the entire Corbit-Calloway team, thank you for investing in our Chamber, preserving an incredible piece of Delaware history, and continuing to serve our community for the generations ahead.
