Today, our 4th graders in Mrs. Engstrom's class immersed themselves in sample personal narratives using their CKLA textbooks. By taking time to analyze how authors craft their personal experiences into compelling stories, our students are building the foundation and confidence to draft their own unique narratives. Today, our 5th-grade mathematicians stepped into the role of aerospace engineers. Through designing and launching paper straw rockets, students explored key concepts in measurement, data collection, and trial-and-error design. It’s inspiring to see them analyze their results, collaborate with peers, and refine their ideas to achieve new distances! 💡

The first week of school is all about building connection and community! Recess and lunch gave our students the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and challenge themselves—whether that meant reaching the top of the playground climber or sharing a laugh over lunch.

During their birthday month, your student can bring in a $5 donation (cash or check to Harvey Oaks Elementary) to choose a brand-new book for our library. 📖✨ We'll place a special personalized bookplate inside so their name stays a part of our library's history for years to come! 🤩
