Our thoughts are with the tuber who was taken to the hospital this weekend.
Even without a storm, the river can be unpredictable and urge everyone to wear life jackets.

Douglas County Authorities were dispatched to the Elkhorn river Saturday afternoon after reports of tubers being stuck.

Thank you to the South Sioux City Public Library for having our education team teach the kiddos about live native Nebraska animals and the importance of flood mitigation with hands-on water models. We love to see the kids so engaged!

When corn is high, four-way intersections in rural counties can become dangerous. Pollinator Safety Corners is a cost share program that helps improve visibility and enhances our environment at the same time.

The program allows landowners to take 1-3 acres at a four-way intersection out of crop production and convert it into a mix of short native grasses or pollinator habitat.

The NRD Recreation Exploration program challenges nature enthusiasts to visit as many Natural Resources District (NRD) recreation areas as you can through Sept. 18 and submit a photo for a chance to win a Scheels gift card.

Reminder: 🩸🩸 Blood drive at the Papio NRD Thursday, July 30th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The American Red Cross Serving Nebraska and Southwest Iowa and Nebraska Community Blood Bank Omaha have declared an emergency blood shortage.

Donations are down as hospitals are needing them the most with summer injuries and accidents.
