Release, Inc.

Release, Inc. Safe. Together. Healthy. Free. Release began in 1994 with two guys, a Bible, and a boom box. We serve over 350 kids per week through our various programs.

They used Christian rap music and God’s word to reach the youth at the Douglas County Youth Center. Early on the ministry became aware of the need for mentoring, Bible studies and aftercare that would go beyond the walls of the DCYC. Mentoring was formally added in 2001, and the overall ministry continued to grow every year. Release engages with at-risk youth and their families throughout Douglas

and Sarpy counties. MENTORING Release engages youth through professional chaplaincy and various volunteer mentoring opportunities in the community. FOSTER CARE Release provides initial training and ongoing support to foster families to provide temporary, loving homes when children cannot remain in their family homes. COMMUNITY-BASED INITIATIVES Release goes into the homes of families to help keep them together, or reunite them when they have been separated. MENTAL HEALTH Release provides therapy services to individuals and families in the community.

The Release Care Closet has been a busy place this week. This week we have been able to serve 151 children!
We see so many amazing things and God’s blessing every week, but this particular story was so good this week.

One of the little ones we support had a special birthday. After many years in Foster Care, this child will soon be adopted . ❤️
At Release, We supply a brand new birthday present for each child we support as well as working with “cake for kids” to supply a custom birthday cake.

This brand new Atari game system came in just yesterday and we knew who it was meant for.

The Foster Care Specialist got to deliver the custom birthday cake as well as this amazing birthday present.

Grateful we’re able to be part of seeing God provide, and see how much each of these little children mean to him.

A round of golf may not seem like much.

But when hundreds of people come together, it helps Release continue showing up for youth, families, and foster parents throughout the year.

Last year, more than 5,000 people received support through mentoring, counseling, foster care services, family support, and other programs at Release.

Those relationships happen because people in our community choose to invest in them.

If you are playing in the Golf Classic, sponsoring the event, volunteering, or making a gift, you are helping make that work possible. Thank you for helping create the time, space, and resources needed to walk alongside people who need someone to show up.

Join us for the Bill Ellett Memorial Golf Classic on September 21, 2026 to have a little fun along the way.
