To the Finest & True Lifesavers of Ossining

As National Police Week comes to a close, and National Emergency Medical Services Week begins, we want to express our gratitude to both OPD & OVAC.

The work of any emergency services unit is truly a team effort, from the spcific agencies personnel to the other local departments that are involved. The end result in any incident is simply the safety of our community and their property. The OFD relies on both the Ossining Police Department & Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps tremendously.

We ask that the Ossining Community joins us in saluting and simply saying “Thank You” to these outstanding Emergency Services Professionals.

Your Dedication, Heroism, Humility, & Resilience does NOT go unnoticed.

***Upcoming Traffic Disruption on Main Street***

Plan accordingly for the next 10-12 weeks if you frequent the Main Street/Downtown area for business/work/etc.

🚗 Planning Your Route: Upcoming Traffic Changes from our Downtown Construction

Building on yesterday’s update regarding the arrival of precast deliveries for the Aqueduct Hub, here are more specific details on the temporary traffic and parking plan.

To safely bring in these large wide-load trucks into Downtown Ossining, we are implementing a temporary traffic and parking plan for the next 10–12 weeks. Plan for delays, during the hours of 6:30 am and 5 pm on Main Street and in the vicinity of Main Street. Our businesses will be open so plan a little extra time to park, enjoy lunch, have coffee with friends and browse our shops.

Logistics at a Glance:
✓Church Street: Parking will be limited during the construction period.
✓Brandreth Street: This street will be closed to through traffic and parking Mondays through Fridays (day and night) for the duration of precast delivery.
✓Leonard Place: Access remains open for residents and employees, be prepared for some delays.

If you’re not aware, we will be having a prolonged impact to the Main St/Downtown area over the next few months. The construction of the parking garage/hub on Brandreth St, structural components will be trucked in during specific times during the day hindering vehicular traffic. Today is a test run for this specific part of the project. Please be alert and if you can use alternate routes, we recommend you do if possible. We will be sharing additional information concerning this on our next post.

Yes, we’re late to the party….but we have an hour left….its been a busy day for us….Happy Cinco De Mayo!!!
