📚 ScrabbleFest: October 23, 5p.m. Join us for fun evening of games, food, and friendship to support the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County. 🎃 City Of Oswego Creepy Crawl: October 23 – 24, 6 – 9 p.m. Live music, vendors, food, and of course Halloween fun! There will be a costume contest on October 24 at 7:30 p.m. The creepy crawl takes place in the tunnel on the E. First St. entrance. 🎃 Pulaski, NY Halloween Parade and Boo-tastic Weekend: The Halloween parade takes place on October 24 at 10 a.m. The parade begins at the Pulaski-Boylston Snowmobile Club and ends at Lura M. Sharp Elementary School. On October 25, there will be a children’s movie night at South Park in Pulaski from 6-9 p.m. Wear your costumes or Halloween-themed jammies!
🥾 Rice Creek Events: October 24, 11 a.m. Enjoy a guided nature walk at Rice Creek! Rice Creek's naturalists will be your guides as you explore the forests, fields, wetlands, and waterways of Rice Creek Field Station. This walk will be less than one mile and is open to all ages. Accessible options are possible with the brand new Purple Trail! The trail is built to comply with U.S. Forest Service Trail Accessibility Guidelines, making it accessible to many people who use wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, and other mobility devices. To request a guided nature walk on the Purple Trail, please let us know by calling (315) 312-6677 or emailing [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance of the program. Also taking place on October 3 at 6:30 p.m. is an evening bat walk, which is part of the Junior Naturalist and Nature Discovery Series. Naturalist Tim McMonagle will lead an evening walk to look for bats, while also using a special device that detects bats' ultrasonic vocalizations and identifies them to species. Along the way, Tim will also provide information about bats, including their life history, amazing adaptations, and conservation needs. Each participant should bring a head lamp or flashlight and sturdy walking shoes. Remember to dress for the weather and tick protection. An adult must accompany children under 17. 🎃 Oswego County Youth Bureau Sixth Annual Trunk-or-Treat: October 24, noon – 3 p.m. Head to Oswego Speedway to show off your costumes and get some tasty treats! Oswego Speedway, 300 E. Albany St., Oswego.
🎃 Phoenix Trunk-or-Treat: October 24, noon – 3 p.m. William J. Farley Jr. Community Park, 156 Chestnut St., Phoenix. (attendees can bring a canned or shelf-stable food donation for Erin's Angels of CNY.)
🏒 Oswego State Athletics Hockey: October 24. Head to the SUNY Oswego Campus as both men’s and women’s Laker hockey teams take on Nazareth. Puck drop for the women’s game is 3 p.m. and it’s a 7 p.m. puck drop for the men’s team. It’s Teal Night for both games. Wear teal to show support for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. 🎃 North Shore Halloween Candy Crawl: October 31, noon. Hosted by Central Oswego County Riders, Vanderbilt Snowmobile Club, and NCB Performance, the event starts at Joa's Pizza, 2645 NY 49, West Monroe, and follows the North Shore Recreational Trail with multiple trunk-or-treat stops at local community locations, including the VFW and Constantia Fire Department. There will also be a haunted forest near Buckingham’s Market. All ATVs and UTV riders are invited to come out to this family friendly event! The event will also include a non-perishable food drive benefiting local veterans and coat drive supporting the Oswego County Snowmobile Association.
