Fire-setting is not a prank. It puts lives, property and public spaces at risk.

Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a series of suspicious fires believed to have been intentionally set inside the restroom at Pop Stansell Park in Palm Harbor.

At this time, we believe the incidents may involve a juvenile or teenager. We are asking parents to please speak with their children about the seriousness and dangers of fire-setting behavior.

If anyone has information, witnessed suspicious activity or saw individuals near the restroom area around the time of the incidents, please contact PCSO at 727-582-6200

Two more fires and more graffiti has prompted this unfortunate result. We will reopen as soon as we can safely do so once the situation has been resolved. POP STANSELL PARK

Earlier today, crews responded to a single vehicle incident that spanned multiple locations.
The vehicle first left the roadway and struck a home before leaving the scene. A few blocks away, the same vehicle crashed again striking a large palm tree and landing in a yard next to a residence.
The driver was declared a trauma alert and transported to a nearby trauma center.

EMS Week 2026 | Improving Outcomes, Together

This year’s national theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” reflects something our clinicians live out every single day. Every shift, our paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters answer the community’s call for help and impact lives far beyond the response itself.

Whether it’s a life-threatening emergency, helping someone through uncertainty, comforting a family member, or simply being there when someone feels alone, the work of EMS extends far beyond medicine. It is built on compassion, trust, professionalism, teamwork, and service to others.

At Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, this theme aligns directly with our mission to reduce risk and improve the quality of lives. Our clinicians embody our vision of being a pillar of safety and service while continuing to deliver modern solutions that meet the evolving needs of our community.

Most importantly, they demonstrate our values every day:
▪️ Honor through ethical conduct
▪️ Commitment to the organization and community
▪️ Professionalism in every interaction
▪️ Integrity through honesty and transparency
▪️ Duty by placing the needs of others before self

To our clinicians: thank you for the care you provide, the sacrifices you make, and the lasting impact you have on this community and each other.

To our community: thank you for the trust you place in us every day. It is an honor to serve you.

Early this morning, crews responded to a single-vehicle crash into a concrete pole at the intersection of US 19 and Cypress in the northbound lanes. Both the driver and passenger sustained critical injuries and required extrication from the vehicle. One patient suffered a secondary entrapment, creating an extremely difficult and complex rescue.

Throughout the extended extrication, Aeromed and firefighter paramedics provided immediate patient care inside the vehicle until both patients could be safely removed. Both were transported by helicopter to a nearby trauma center.

Thank you to Seminole Fire EMS Chief who was first on scene and assisted prior to additional units arriving.

Also inside the vehicle was a small dog, who was transported to a local veterinary clinic for evaluation and care. Miraculously, the dog appears to be OK at this time.

A duck!
In the fireplace!

At this point, we’d like to formally ask wildlife to stop choosing the most complicated possible locations.

Thankfully, our crews were able to help our feathered friend safely waddle away from its chimney-side adventure.

Yes, we still make house calls. No, the duck did not have working smoke alarms. 🚒 🦆

Next week, Palm Harbor Fire Rescue proudly recognizes EMS Week 2026 and honors the dedicated EMS professionals who serve our community each and every day.

Established in 1974, EMS Week was created to recognize the men and women who provide lifesaving medical care on the frontlines of emergency response. From serious medical emergencies and traumatic injuries to moments of fear and uncertainty, EMS clinicians are there when help is needed most.

This year’s national EMS Week theme is “Improving Outcomes, Together.”

At Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, improving outcomes means more than providing emergency medical care. It means treating every patient with compassion, professionalism, and dignity. It means comforting a scared child, supporting families during difficult moments, and being a calm, reassuring presence during someone’s worst day.

Our paramedics and EMTs respond around the clock with skill, integrity, and a commitment to protecting the health and safety of our community. Whether responding to a critical emergency or providing reassurance and care when it matters most, they continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Please join us in thanking all EMS professionals for their dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the community.

Earlier today at Station 67, crews found an injured juvenile Hawk. With the assistance of Karey from Suncoast Animal League, the hawk was safely picked up by Raptor Rescue of Tampa Bay for evaluation and care.

Great teamwork helping protect one of our local birds of prey.

RIT to the Rescue!

As our PHFR Rapid Intervention Team was preparing to leave the station for the competition, a mom who had just had her car seat installed by our Public Education ended up with a flat tire.

So naturally, RIT did what RIT does.

They stopped, stepped in, and helped change the tire before hitting the road. Great job guys! 👏🔥🚒 We wish you the best in your competition!!!
