🔵 The June 3rd U.S. Army urban warfare training operation that lasted until after 2 am at the former St. Luke’s Hospital in a Pasadena residential neighborhood raises troubling questions.

The Eaton Fire literally burned homes to the ground across the street from where army helicopters, flash bangs, and gunfire were inflicted on the survivors. At a time when masked, armed ICE agents operating in unmarked vehicles have kidnapped people off our streets, it’s not paranoid to ask why here and why now? As a Councilmember, I will be seeking answers about this operation and accountability from the Department of “War.”

🏛️ June is when we adopt our annual budget and we had a very lively participatory Budget Workshop as our monthly Issue Forum in May. We'll continue the theme of participatory budgeting, looking at what other communities are doing to empower residents to shape where their tax dollars go at my next City Tak webinar on Tuesday, June 9 at 7pm.

Attend or tune in to our regular third Tuesday Issue Forum on June 16 at 7 pm at our usual location, Jefferson Auditorium. Our topic will be the plans for the development of the 710 Stub. It's a generational opportunity to reconnect neighborhoods divided by the aborted freeway extension — and create a model for sustainable and equitable development.

WARNING: The US Military is invading Pasadena’s residential neighborhoods with a night time training exercise at the former St. Luke’s hospital tonight.

I am outraged by this. The city was informed today and was told to not release information until 5:30pm. That is absurd and ridiculous, and typical of the current administration’s contempt for citizens of this country.
